Official: Villarreal appoints Jose Molina as new coach

Jose Molina is the new head coach of Villarreal as confirmed by the club on its official website on Thursday.
The former Spain international, who was in charge of the Yellow Submarine's second team, replaces Juan Carlos Garrido after the trainer was shown the door following the side's elimination from Copa del Rey at the hands of Segunda Division B side Mirandes.
The 41-year-old Molina represented Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna during his playing career. He returned to the Yellow Submarine in 2009 to coach the outfit's third team.
The former goalkeeper's first game in charge of Villarreal is set for Jan. 8, when the Yellow Submarine hosts Valencia in the Primera Division. - http://www.goal.com
