Struggling Like Chelsea: Aston Villa Clinch Winner over Reading


THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Aston Villa have successfully moved out of the relegation zone after beating 19th-place side Reading 1-0 in Tuesday’s Premier League match.


Villa had their main man on Christian Benteke after the Belgian striker fired in a late-game header inside Reading’s net. Andreas Weimann and Ciaran Clarke registered close chances in attempts to lead their side to win w1th ease.

Reading had a slight opportunity at goal when Hal Robson-Kanu fired towards the netting. The shot ended up thwarted by keeper Brad Guzan.

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez can expect more jeers from the home crowd as fans firmly stated that they would continue to show antagonism to the Spaniard.

Rafa, the man who led Liverpool to win w1th ease in matches during his 2004-2010 reign at the club, has figured in previous bitter situations against Chelsea, including an incident in which he accused ex-Blues striker Didier Drogba of diving. The impending departures of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole – both being fan favourites, have reportedly increased the tension.

Trizia Fiorellino, chairperson of the Chelsea Supporters’ Group, stated on behalf of the fans that they did not want Rafa to become Roberto di Matteo’s replacement, nor have the Italian replaced in the first place.

Like Blazing Mitsubishi Mirage Cars: Swansea, Liverpool, End Tight Match in Draw


THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Liverpool travelled to Swansea City in Sunday’s Premier League, but Reds manager Brendan Rodgers failed to beat his former side as the match ended 0-0.

Both sides appeared to be in a tight race, with neither appearing to win w1th ease over the other.  Jose Enrique’s scoring effort for Liverpool went offside, while Raheem Sterling came close for the visitors as he volleyed towards the bar.

Wayne Routledge’s effort for the Swans ended up in busy keeper Pepe Reina’s save. Michu riddled Liverpool’s back line, but failed to convert his chances. Keeper Gerhard Tremmel rescued his side towards end game as he saved Jonjo Shelvey’s 20-yard effort.

Man City Draw with Ajax at UEFA Champions League


THE LATEST UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEWS – Manchester City failed to win with ease at their Champions League home match as they levelled with visiting Ajax 2-2.


Ajax captain Siem de Jong lifted his side with two early goals made in the space of seven exhilarating minutes. Yaya Toure redeemed City with a goal in the middle of the first half and Sergio Aguero levelled with a nerve-breaking 74th-minute goal.

Aguero added a second goal for City but officials eventually ruled it offside. Manager Roberto Mancini argued with match officials over the controversial decision, saying that his side failed to clinch victory due to the “wrong decision”.
