Mali Fans Call For Return Of Sevilla’s Frédéric Kanouté

12bet.com Mali’s Association of Independent Supporters (ASIAM) has called for the return of Sevilla striker Frédéric Kanouté, 33, to the national team, after he retired from international football in the wake of the Eagles’ debacle at Angola 2010. 12bet.com

At a press conference against violence in sports held in Mali’s capital Bamako on Thursday,12bet.com  the association made a solemn appeal to Kanoute to put an end to his retreat and make a comeback to the ailing national team. 12bet.com

“The new generation of players needs to be guided and inspired by veteran players in the likes of Frédéric Kanouté, Mahamadou Diarra, Seydou Keïta and Adama Coulibaly, to mention this few,” said Cheickna Demba, president of the ASIAM. 12bet.com

12bet.com Kanoute is expected in Bamako on March 27, not for football however, but to inaugurate a sports centre built by his foundation.

Kanoute played for the Mali national team between 2004 and 2010, appearing 41 times and scoring 29 goals.
